Costumer Reviews

I would have to agree with the first reviewer-MAJOR ordeal getting this thing put together, and my husband did it and is also very handy! It wasn't that the entire thing had to be assembled, it was also the twelve separate wires, trying to figure out which were the ground and which hot (by inspecting and then feeling very closely, you can tell half of them have a different edge on the plastic around the wire!)then taping them because the wire nuts/caps they give you are too small he said...then trying to get them all in the metal cap underneath was such a pain, then trying to get it on straight and to hang straight...after all that, each crystal has to be hung by hand...add to that once we thought we had everything on right, I figured out each crystal also has a round bead crystal attached to the top, we had to take every one off again, take off 11 round crystal beads from EACH long chain (when it says "40 beads", it means you need to COUNT OUT 40 beads and take off the rest...), attach one to the top of each big crystal then re-attach them all, when you do this and try to get them on straight and you hear the wire scrape the crystal, it is actually breaking bits of crystal off I figured out! which was disappointing. (note: DO NOT hold near your eyes when adjusting wires unless you want bits of crystal in them, and vacuum afterward)...luckily the hole did not break through and we got them all re-hung and yes it looks beautiful when lit (my mother just loves it)...however the body of the chandelier is just cheap glass, needs to be washed first be warned it is dirty- as does the metal bottom cap. the glove to hold the crystals to avoid fingerprints is small enough for a child so if you're a larger person be sure to get at least one larger silk type glove, which i didn't know about so don't know where to find one. oh, be sure to get a chain cover and if you're handy, make one with velcro do NOT buy the $25 "silk dupioni" one on here that has sticky tape on it! If/when i ever remove it, i'm pretty sure the sticky tape isn't sticky enough to work twice--but IS sticky enought to make putting it on a royal pain! So, all in all, if you want a crystal chandelier and under $400 is your budget - great buy If you'd be happy with something without all the crystal, that's another story. Also, my husband put in 60W frosted bulbs, waaaay too bright so i made him buy 40w plus installed a dimmer switch. all this finished within hours of the big christmas party! With all we had to do, this little project took about 3 days on and off to complete.

I would go through it all again ONLY if I really wanted a crystal chandelier and this was by far the least expensive.

My Mother always told me that you "get what you pay for." This was a great buy for its size/number of lights and the fact that the crystals are Swarovski; however, the product was made in China. With that being said, the instructions were pathetic and the design was poorly thought out. My husband eventually got it hung, but it was a MAJOR ordeal. Please note that my husband is EXTREMELY handy and highly capable with regards to electrical wiring. He doesn't feel that it was worth the hassel, but one cannot deny how beautiful it looks when being lit up.
